Probation Violation

When a person is placed on probation, they are expected to act in accordance with the conditions set by the court.  All additional criminal conduct is strictly prohibited.  The defendant (the person placed on probation) may be required to perform community service during probation, or obtain drug counseling or treatment, as well, depending on the charge.  The defendant is also required to meet with his/her probation officer on a regular basis, and the probation officer is required to report to the court on the defendant’s behavior during that period. If there is any violation during probation, the consequences could result in revocation of probation, with prescribed jail time, depending on the type of criminal activity engaged in.
